This was one of my senior high school projects as part of Suncoast Technical College’s Precision Machining course. The robot is a UR5, it’s connected to the CNC lathe via a fiber optic connection and a raspberry pi. That way the robot can trigger a G-code signal to start the program. I had a PVC pipe feeding in raw stock, and the coffee can to retrieve the part regardless of its shape. See the video below.
