A 3D printed sample holder for thin film spectroscopy to measure blood hemoglobin affinity in the PWEE50 style for the BOBS™ machine by Loligo Systems.
A small quantity (on the order of microliters) of blood is placed between two layers of Glad Go-Between Freezer Film, this is then stretched over the sample window via the rubber o-ring and tamp (cylindrical object). The rod is used to position the o-ring over the film and window, and then the tamp stretches the o-ring across the film to create the thinnest possible blood sample, allowing for rapid oxygenation and deoxygenation.
